Pendulum "At the Vestales" in Grand Curtius Museum, Liège

A veritable feast for the connoisseurs of fine objects was a very rare and valuable clock from the collection of antique pendulums and craft porcelain in the Grand Curtius Museum, Salon Baron and Baroness François Duesberg. This is a beautiful and sculptured clocks of late Louis XVI period in gilded bronze bearing the Love, on a base in white marble. The sculptural composition depicting two Vestals that carry the figure of Love, as a message to the world, and represents an exquisite, perfect compositional group filled with artistry and virtuosity.

The creator of this jewellery piece is the famous watchmaker Dieudonné Kinable (1764- c. 1830) from Liège, worked all his life in Paris. His main shop was located on the Palais Royal 131 (also called the Palais égalité 138), Paris and in his 25 years he has seemed as prosperous creator of unique and much sought for its time clocks sculptures. Also, he makes his watches with elements from the famous Sèvres porcelain.

One of the most famous masters enameller was Frenchman Henri-François Dubuisson (master 1769 - active 1823). Admitted to the Corporation des Verriers, Fayanciers, Emailleurs et Patenôtriers (Corporation of Glassblowers, Ceramicists, Enamelers, and Rosary Makers) in 1769. He has worked intensively with some of the best watchmakers of his time, including between his works and this beautiful specimen of watchmaking art "At the Vestales".
