The beautiful pendulum "In the Motherhood" (À la maternité) in Grand Curtius Museum, Liège

In the rich collection of antique pendulums and craft porcelain in the Grand Curtius Museum, Salon Baron and Baroness François Duesberg was presented an amazingly beautiful clock "In the Motherhood" (À la maternité). The jewellery crafted sculptural composition is focuses on the figure of the mother and a filigree cot aside from the central group.

This delightful pendulum from the beginning of the Restoration period, illustrating the maternity and the evening prayer, was said by mistake "To the duchess of Berry". The drawing of this model was deposited by the bronze-worker Jean-André Reiche.

In 1660, it's the time when English King Charles II Stuart have been restored to the English throne after his exile. Almost half a century later, with the Act of Union between England, Scotland, and Wales was established Great Britain, in 1707. This period is known as the Restoration period which marked the era of historical and cultural upsurge not only in England but also in the western parts of the European continent.

The collection of pendulums is specifically donation from Baron and Baroness François Duesberg, richly arranged in the magnificent halls of the famous Grand Curtius Museum Liège, in Belgium.
