Bill Clinton’s Tenor saxophone on the SAX200 exhibition, MIM, Brussels

A very curious exhibition of musical instruments was demonstrated to commemorate the 200th birth anniversary of the great Belgian musician and inventor of saxophone Adolphe Sax. This spectacular event "SAX200 exhibition" in MIM (Musical Instruments Museum, Brussels) from 8.02.2014 to 11.01.2015 bring a true joy the lovers of music and especially of jazz. During the exhibition were shown over 200 instruments bearing the signature personally of Adolphe Sax. There could be seen the oldest preserved baritone saxophone from 1846, and also a tenor saxophone with the colors of the American flag received from President Bill Clinton in 1994. The 42nd President of the United States from 1993 to 2001, William Jefferson "Bill" Clinton, born William Jefferson Blythe III in August 19, 1946, was honored to receive this special Tenor saxophone in B flat, produced in 1993 by L.A. SAX Company, Barrington as the first piece of only 150 of model LA 42T.

The great Belgian musician Adolphe Sax (Antoine-Joseph Sax) was born in Dinant on November 6th, 1814, and his parents were instrument designers, also. He died February 7, 1894 in Paris, France. In 2014 was celebrated the 200th anniversary of his birth. He was a producer of musical instruments, musical instrument designer and inventor of the saxophone in 1846 - this regal musical instrument in the world of jazz. He's played the flute and clarinet, but also creates the saxotromba, saxhorn and saxtuba. Many of his instruments could be seen during the special grandiose exhibition in his honor in the Musical Instruments Museum MIM.
